    Posted: 17 Dec 2019 at 5:14am
I upgraded my old Ryzen 7 2700x to a Ryzen 7 3800x along with a new ssd, more ram and a new watercooler. I updated the bios and installed the new parts, and everything worked great for 2 days, until yesterday when i restarted my pc. Now i most of the time cant even boot into winfows anymore, im stuck on a black screen with the asrock logo and the loading circle between 10-60 min, sometimes it wont even load to the login screen at all, i tried everything from pulling ram, putting other ram in, boot from another ssd, another gpu, clear cmos. I've spend hours looking for a solution, but cant seem to find any. So does anyone have some advice on what to do? When i boot into safe mode it boots instantly, but trying to boot normally, nothing happens or it takes 10-60 min to load into windows login screen. Thanks

Specs:
Asrock x470 taichi ultimate (bios 3.40)
Ryzen 7 3800x.
Asus RTX 2080 Super Rog Strix OC.
Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200mhz 4x8gb.
Corsair Hydro h115i Pro.

>>> Now i most of the time cant even boot into winfows anymore
But sometimes you can?

Too much changes... Try to roll back.
- Use the two stick RAM configuration like before the upgrade

If that works, replace your old RAM with the new sticks.

I don't know how you configured your old 2x8 GB RAM, but 4 sticks probably need adjustments in the bios.

anyway although i only stayed on 3.4 for a few hours i didn't have those problems with the system

i'm leaning towards your ram settings and you need to get to 1.0.0.4B

I tried using 2 stick of ram, both the old and the new once, and it's still the same. i used xmp to clock the ram to 3200mhz, and i tried to clock it to 2133, but it's the result

old or new ones are these even ryzen certifed kits?

if they arent you have to look towards manually setting up the timings

ryzens are already choosy in ram and you put different kits together is a big nono

ok same model doesn't mean they are the same and even if they are the same they are still different in many ways which is why kits are all from the same batch

and whats worst corsair puts different ICs on the same model number can only tell them part from the version numbers

so 3.77 didnt change anything?
