I just purchased the ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming 4 Board and have the older Raidmax Thunder V2 RX-735AP Power Supply.
Will this work? I have searched high and wide but nothing tells mes if this is a match or not. Thank you in advance for your help MADBUZRD |

This PSU is not only old, it is a cheap, loud and low quality thing.
2018 the price was 35 Euro in germany, for a 735W Bronce PSU... Unbelievable! Good that it is sold out... Maybe with a low power CPU and GPU it's ok until a better PSU is available for you. Anyway, i would not use it in any case! |

Based on the specs it should work, as for quality it does have 80 plus certification.
As Ray62 said however, it is not a high quality unit. It is better than the low end but if you plan on using a 12 core or higher CPU and a decent GPU I would look into a better unit. For a lower spec system it will do the job well enough. By the sound of it, Ray62 has had some experience with the unit so take that into account too. Edited by Xaltar - 27 Jan 2020 at 12:19am |

My apologies I should have added my specs:
Phanteks Enthoo Pro ATX Case AMD RYZEN 7 2700 8-Core 3.2 GHz ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming 4 MB G.Skill Ripjaws V 2x16mg ASRock Radeon RX580 8G OC Silicon Power Ace A55 1TB SSD My power supply isn't that old, and the said specs are high (?) so I decided to use it. For as long as I've had it, it never gave me one ounce of trouble. Has been good and did its job. |

With your specs it might be ok.
I just read some discussions and a test of this nice price PSU, where it fails the 80+ Bronze rating: https://www.jonnyguru.com/blog/2016/09/05/raidmax-rx-735ap-power-supply/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jlkgjzmOiZc |

For those specs it should be fine. So long as the fan isn't ramping up and the air
coming out the back of the PSU isn't more than mildly warm under load it means the PSU isn't overloaded. If the PSU fan is pulling air from inside the case flip it so it draws air from outside as it is intended to be used. |

Thank you for your replies.
The system is up and running. I will keep an eye on the PS. I'm adding extra fans to the case, to be on the safe side. Again, thanks a bunch! MADDY! |
