Hey guys, I updated my gpu and then I decided to make sure everything else was up to date. Well, I updated to the most recent bios for my b450 pro4 without regard to the text about not upgrading if you have Pinnacle, Raven or Summit Ridge CPU, as those were terms i wasn't familiar with. Well, I have a ryzen 7 1700x, and now realize I should have held off.

I do have a ryzen 7 5800x on the way, but I need to figure out what to do for now.

So I've read that you should upgrade to each version step by step until I get to the most current one. Is that true? How much would it have messed me up since I didn't do that, and how do I go about fixing it?

And then should I go back to a different version until my 5800x comes? And how do I go about doing that safely? Or should I just avoid using the pc until I get it ( I really don't want to do that)

You can't really flashback to older versions, I'm afraid. Usually it's a good idea to read the yellow or red texts before downloading anything off of internet :D

Hello @Dempseyjosh

Should be no problem, If I remember correctly, those intermediate steps were most of the APU type CPU with internal GPU.

As a piece of mind story, my bios was buggy once, problem of not remembering date and time, went back to the official dealer and they use a device to wipe clean the bios and flash the latest at that time, 6.1 for x370 Taichi, fore-going all the steps in between, and it worked fine.

What issue you are facing now? Do you have an unbootable system. A system where just Fans run but it does not POST after BIOS update?
Unless the note explicitly states about a need to flash a Bridge BIOS, you may go from on level to next higher skipping one level in between.
