Current specs:

Ryzen 2700
ASRock X470 Taichi (P1.60 BIOS)
4 x 8GB CL14 RAM 3200MHz XMP enabled

I'd like to swap the 2700 with the 5950x. As per ASRock support page, BIOS 4.60 supports Ryzen 5000 series.

Can I jump directly from 1.60 to 4.60 or do I need to flash to all the previous versions in between? Additionally, what is the sequence of steps?

Update BIOS to 4.60
Shutdown
Swap CPUs
Power on

Thanks for reading.

Here is a user with similar set up as yours:

But if you want to try it at your own risk:
First update to latest chipset driver. You can get that driver directly from AMD driver website, by selecting Chipset>AM4>x470> Submit and select your Windows Version. And download AMD Chipset Drivers. Install them. Then download
BIOS v2.00 alongside v4.60.
Update to v2.00 - reset to factory defaults
Update to v4.60 - after reboot. Switch off the PC, swap CPUs over, boot up, hopefully get into BIOS, reset to factory defaults. Hope that works :D
