Hi,
I just bought a Z170 Extreme 7+ Motherboard yesterday and 10 Toshiba SATA3 4T HDDs + a Samsung 950 Pro 512G NVMe M.2 SSD. If I only installed the 950 Pro 512G NVMe SSD in the M.2 slot. It is correctly detected and seen in the UEFI screen. If I only installed the 10 SATA 3 HDDs in the 10 SATA Ports. They are correctly detected and seen in the UEFT screen. If I installed BOTH the 950 Pro into M.2 Slot and the 10 SATA3 HDDs in the 10 SATA Ports. motherboard was not able to detect all of them. Samsung 950 Pro and HDDs in SATA_0 and SATA_1 became "Not Detected". Firmware version is 2.6 and I tried many combinations of UEFT settings already (including enabling and disabling CSM option, and also setting the sub-menu to "UEFT Only". I had tried some other port combinations and seemed 950 Pro in the M.2 Slot 1 conflicted with SATA_0 and SATA_1 (This I am quite sure, even conflicted with one single HDD installed); while in Slot 2 conflicted with SATA_2 and SATA_3 (this I am not quite sure, just tested once). Can anyone shed some lights for me please? I had not read any documentation saying these conflicts....or am I missing something? Many many thanks! |

Each M2 slot in use comes at the price of two sata3 ports. It is all spelled out in the manual.
