Just recently upgraded to the ASRock Z170 Extreme 7+ with an i7 6700K with G.Skill 3200 (4x4gb) and 1.35 v. So, I have windows 10 installed and have a nice up to date clean install. Installed Acronis 2010 and made a backup image of my operating system like I have done many times in Windows 7. Here's the problem, when booting to the Acronis disk to re-intall the saved image to say, another drive, I have no mouse capabilities. I have tried (3) USB mouses, (1) wireless USB Mouse and even dug out two old PS/2 mouses (one ball type and one optical type). This board has one outlet on the back of it for PS/2 mouse/keyboard, but does not seem to be taking either of the mouses?? when using the PS/2 mouse in the Bios it acts like a Tab button or something....very strange. So, in a nut shell...I have a saved Aconis Image that I cannot map to another drive because I can't get a dang mouse to work...any thoughts? thanks, mw |

Hello, Like you I had issues with the PS2/mouse and keyboard not working after a BIOS upgrade. Ultimately, I wound up using a serial port mouse plugged into the motherboard with an adapter that mounted in the case. It ultimately solved my mouse problem. I also flashed my BIOS to 2.0. This flash alone seem to smooth out system irregularities. So if you have an old PS2 serial port mouse you may be able to do the same thing until you get your system up and running. If you search for mouse issues you should see my old post sometime in early January 2016. To be clear I'm still using the serial port mouse. Good luck??/div> Asrock H170 Pro4 Intel Boxed Core I5-6500 FC-LGA14C 3.20 Ghz 6 M Processor... 8 GB Kingston ValueRAM Memory Samsung 950 Pro M.2 256 GB EVGA GeForce GT 740 Graphic Card sc- 1085 MHz Core - 1 GB...
