On brand new build, Windows 8.1 OS, I can't seem to produce any audio sound from my motherboard's digital optical output to my Logitech speaker system Z906. I've installed the latest Realtek audio drivers from the ASrock downloads, but to no avail. I know there's a certain setup in the audio settings that will remedy this, but for 2 days of searching for solutions, I just can't get it to produce sound.
I'm using the DTS optical cable to connect the mboard to the sound system. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Carol in NC, USA |

If you right click on the Speaker Icon in the system tray, not the realtek one the windows one and select playback devices is the optical out listed and set to default?

Thanks. I had the input on the Logitech control device set to stereo vs Optical. After a little tinkering with the settings, all is good.
