contact support with the following problem after updating Bios to 7.10 in Asrock killer Sli:
Motherboard: Asrock x 370 killer SLi : Bios 7.10 Video Card: Asrock Phantom Gaming D Radeon RX580 8G OC CPU: Ryzen 7 1700. Hello, I need help to re-activate secureboot, yesterday I updated to bios version 7.10 and when I proceed to activate it, the bios asks me to disable CSM: ¨DISABLE THE CSM IN SETUP. REPEAT OPERATION AFTER REBOOT TO ENSURE UEFI VIDEO (GOP) DRIVER IS OPERATIONAL¨ which causes that I can no longer enter the bios, I am left no video signal and there is no way to get into UEFI BIOS. Apparently the video card does not support GOP. In fact, GOP never worked any previous BIOS version. Until Bios version 7.00 i could activate secureboot without having to disable CSM. Please, I need to return to Bios version 7.00 somehow or a solution to this problem, there is no section does it say not to update with this type of video card. In fact I chose to buy devices of the same brand to avoid compatibility problems. Maybe an update of the video card Firmware will solve this problem or new motherboard BIOS update. |

I have Sapphire Nitro+ 570 and it works like a charm w/o CSM.
I'm not sure about asrock version, but maybe you can try booting with just one stick of memory. I have encountered issues with 7.10 version of BIOS, maybe it's not the VGA, but just BIOS. If nothing else helps, this might be worth a shot. |

CPU: Ryzen 5600X
MB: Fatal1ty X370 Gaming K4 (BIOS 7.03) RAM: CMK16GX4M2B3200C16, works with 3200 by default on 7.03 bios (previously I could not go higher than 2933) |

It's not a memory problem, I've already tried absolutely everything, including memory. The problem is that ASROCK RX 580 boards are legacy UEFI, therefore, disabling CSM, this video card does not give image until the operating system is loaded, therefore it is impossible to view the Bios.
With previous versions, it was not necessary to disable CSM to enable secure boot. So, here are two solutions, one: The possibility of a new firmware that addresses this problem or two: a firmware update for Asrock's 500 series boards. |

I am going to post the tracing of this case with Asrock support until I get a decent and polite answer, I clarify, because they have been quite blunt in their answers and without the will to solve anything. I will seriously consider buying ASROCK products again in the future, with this type of behavior.
(I clarify. The support is in Spanish so I am going to use the Google translator to expose the case) |

First reply from Asrock support by mail:
Asunto: RE: #X370 Killer SLI# SECURE BOOT PROBLEM - BIOS- CSM- GOP - (Argentina) That BIOS version you updated is not for the class of processor you have, as it clearly states that updating is not recommended when using that class of CPU. To activate secure boot, do the following steps. Enter the BIOS setup and go to the BOOT section and disable CSM Then you go to the security folder > secure mode you put it in standard and when you are in that position you save and exit and when you start you return to the same security section > and enable in secure mode (it appears not active) when you enable it you save and exit and To confirm that it is done correctly, go back to BIOS setup>security> and check again in secure boot and you will find that it says ACTIVATED. When this appears like this, it is when you are ready to install the winodws OS ------------------------------------- My answer to Asrock Support: Hello, thanks for the prompt response. If the processor is not supported, why does the CPU support page state that it is? Indicates that it is compatible with all versions. I sent you the screenshot in an attached file that I took from your official page.( https://imgur.com/mePikfv ) The method that you indicate does not execute correctly, since the video card, also of the same brand, ASROCK RX D 580, is not compatible with secure boot, it does not have GOP even though it claims to be UEFI. What when disable CSM, gives 5 long beeps, which results in a black screen, until the operating system starts and even if I restart the bios, I have no image, which makes it impossible to activate the secure boot. With previous Bios versions, this step was not necessary, you could activate it without reboot. I mean, either the solution is a Bios downgrade, or a GOP firmware update for Asrock video cards. They are 2 products of the same brand that do not work with each other and are practically from the same year. I remind you again, it's not my mistake, the page says so, in fact, it's more of a video card compatibility problem, but with older versions of Bios it can be solved without having to activate CSM, which is that exactly the problem. Please, I insist that I have to solve the problem. |

Second reply from Asrock support by mail:
On the page it says clearly about not upgrading and I highlight your processor. About the steps that I send you is to make the secure boot pass and we give those steps to all clients Image attached to the email ( https://imgur.com/dM6wBBs ) -------------------------------- My second answer to Asrock support It seems to me that apart from being blunt in the conversation, You are going a step further than he should as a support. First, that is not the Bios Version. I clarified that it is 7.10, which fixes security bugs and lags in AMD processors in Windows 11. Second, the page that I send you should then clarify that they are not all the VERSIONS as indicated. ALL. And clarify which is the exact version as it does with all the others. Third: disable CSM (DOES NOT WORK WITH ANY BIOS VERSION, NOR ANY OPERATING SYSTEM, WIN 7, 8 10, 11 OR LINUX) Neither the new ones, nor the old ones) The only thing that changes in this version 7.10 is that you have to reboot to enable secure boot, THEN: You don't want to support me for the X30 KILLER SLI board? Solve for me the incompatibility with the ASROCK PHANTOM GAMING D RX580 board that does not give a post screen with CSM disabled and tell me where it says that it is not compatible with secure boot or do I take this to all social networks, consumer protection and expose the terrible support that you are giving me, I have a PC that is 85% ASROCK And, in fact, with any version of those Bios, It works, so you know, we're talking about version 7.10. https://imgur.com/mePikfv |
