I built this box a couple of years ago with a Threadripper 1950X and an Enermax Liqtech AIO cooler. It worked great until the Enermax cooler died and the CPU shut down from overheating. Enermax replaced the cooler, but the new unit died last week. I ordered a Lian Li Galahad AIO, which got great online reviews. But I cannot figure how to mount this cooler on the TR4 socket on the x399 MB. Does anyone have any experience with this combo? Thx.

Lian Li's site says, "COMPATIBLE CPU SOCKETS | Intel: LGA 115X,LGA 1200,LGA 1700 | AMD: AM4,AM5"

It says nothing about supporting any ThreadRipper sockets, such as SP3r2 used by TR 1950X.

Long story short, TR4 system bought right after its premiere, 2x Enermax AIO died in a 1 year period each, bought Noctua NH-U14S TR4-SP3 with additional fan + few BeQuiet Silent Base fans, works efficiently and silently till now.

Very satisfied with Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro TR4 for my 2950X + 5x Noctua Redux 140mm, silence and efficiency with PBO enabled in BIOS.

If AIO could be configured in BIOS perhaps it would return to liquid but IMO it is not worth needing an OS and a proprietary app to manage something so basic just by a couple of degrees, fortunately my enthusiasm died and I have never been an adept of RGB effects.

Enermax Liqtech Threadripper coolers are well known for failing. Just search them on Youtube and you'll see plenty of videos with people having problems. I don't recommend them at all. Noctua NH-U14S TR4-SP3 is a great choice. I have them on all my Threadripper systems and they are more than enough to cool them, even for my 32-core 3970x. You can even add a 2nd fan which can drop a few degrees more if you plan to overclock.
