Hi there,

I bought a brand new gaming K6 Motherboard, i5-6500, and corsair 8gb ram the other day, I actually even made a post about it in the build log section of this forum.

Well everything went well with the build, fired up first time, installed Win7 64bit, installed all the drivers. Everything was flying along...

Then things was downhill from there... :-(

I have three SATA drives, Windows, Games, and my stuff respectively.

After a few hours the Intel drive management program flagged up a SMART warning for my games drive, I didn't believe it though, its a massive coincidence isn't it? So I shut down and tried the drive on my old system and it was fine, It's recognised and I can use it in windows.

So I put it back in my new build, and loaded windows, I thought "where's my drive gone??", so I restarted and went into bios and it wasn't listed there WTF? So I shut down, and checked the cables, it was ok, but this time when I pressed the power button computer came on but the cpu fan not spinning and a black screen. I thought is there a short so I unplugged all drives, and it switched on fine, so now I cant plug any hard drive in because it won't POST. I get error 00, but unplugged it turns on. The drives all work in another computer. I can post fine with a sata DVD writer in A0 and it appears in the bios.

What the hell is going on? Anybody have any ideas?? I'm thinking its a dodgy ASmedia chip?
