Hi,
I have installed an additional Realtek Gaming 2.5GbE Family Controller on a PCIe 2.0 card in my PC. Two questions to it: - since the MB B450 Steel Legend doesn't get any Realtek network driver updates anymore, although Realtek moved to 10.71 for Windows 10 in the meantime, can I install the official Windows 10 PCIe (NDIS) driver from Realtek itself instead, to get the most performance out of this new chipset (RTL8125BG)? - does it make any difference which PCIe 2.0 slot I choose? Thanx, Matt |

Yes, that should be fine.
Any slot should work, just be sure it isn't a slot that shares PCIe lanes with SATA etc that you may be using. |

Thank you!
I believe it works. I cannot find any information on shared lanes between PCIe slots and SATA, only the note in the user manual "* If M2_1 is occupied, PCIE4 will be disabled." whereby PCIe4 is the second 3.0x16 slot on the MB. Do you refer to this, or are there other shared lanes particularly with 2.0x1 slots? |

If that is all that's listed on your product page regarding sharing lanes then that
is it What and how many things share lanes varies depending on the board model and features. |
