Have set up hundreds of MB's over the years but on this one H170 PRO4, I can get into the Bios and the USB mouse and USB keyboard work just fine. After exiting and booting from Windows 7 disk, it comes to the first page and the mouse or the keyboard do not work. I can't select the next step.
I've used several keyboards, and both wireless USB abd wired USB keyboards and mice. but nothing. Changed to different Windows 7 disc also. Still nothing. works in Bios, but not after. ????? Bill Edited by bboyd - 22 Nov 2016 at 12:19am |

Hi,
same error all time (Google would tell you immediatly). Please go to the product page of ASRock H170 Pro 4 and download the Windows 7 USB Patcher ver:2.0.14 (last item). Then patch your Windows 7 distribution and it will install without problem. You can also download a patcher from Intel. Windows 7 does not have xHCI drivers (for USB) in it's original distribution (since there was no xHCI at that time). The BIOS is of course aware of the new USB drivers. All boards from any manufacturer for SkyLake processors will need a patched version of Windows 7 to install (or use PS2 Keyboard and Mouse). I have the same board and Windows 7 is working perfect.
