Is it possible to set bifurcation manually in the BIOS for PCIe?

I would like to configure the PCIe from x16 to 4x4x4x4 instead.

The reason is to connect an NVMe drive over the PCIe connector. Seems it would only work over the M.2 as of now. I have a Supermicro AOC-SLG-2E4R that i want to try.

Perhaps the BIOS only allows NVMe over the M.2. PCIe3 conn is only x4 but still doesnt work.
