Hi,
I would like to buy a Fatal1ty Z270 Gaming-ITX/ac motherboard for my HTPC to play 4K HDR content in the future. Does this technical specs mean that there is a 4K support with HDR on 10Bit and HDCP 2.2? Is the HDMI port compatible with the HDMI2.0a standard that is required for deep colour (HDR) in 4K? - Supports HDMI with max. resolution up to 4K x 2K (4096x2160) @ 60Hz - Supports Auto Lip Sync, Deep Color (12bpc), xvYCC and HBR (High Bit Rate Audio) with HDMI Port (Compliant HDMI monitor is required) - Supports HDCP with HDMI, DisplayPort 1.2 and Intel® Thunderbolt??3 Edited by eRacoon - 16 Feb 2017 at 2:58am |

Is the Board using the MCDP2800 Chip from Megachips to convert the DP 1.2 signal to HDMI2.0a.
Looks like this is the only chip available that is able to convert the signal to the 2.0a standard. Sadly I can't find any info about which chip is used at this Board.

Found the answer on my own... just for the info if everyone else is looking for this info. ;)
Asrock is using the MCDP2800BC from Megachips which is converting the DP1.2 to HDMI 2.0a with HDCP 2.2 support. |

meant to reply the other day LOL
what's even better is that it's just a newer [ C0 ] stepping of the B0/B1 stepping chip used on the z170 itx board so you can use the 1.61 update package in the support page to update the firmware of that board :D |

The Z270 itx board is shipped with fw 1.61, there is no need to flash again.

Hey there, Were you able to use 4k UHD player on your rig with this motherboard? Did this Fatality z270 Itx/ac support you with HDR as well? I am planning to build my own using this if it is the case. Thanks alot in advance! |

I'm also wondering about the results you got. i'm myself interested in the amd version of this board, that also basically said only hdmi 2.0 and DP 1.2. No DP 1.3 or hdmi 2.0a what's so ever.
you are saying that a chip inside your mobo allow hdmi 2.0a signal to be transferred through the display port 1.2 port of the board? I really don't understand. basically like everybody i want to know if i can playback whatever uhd content (10 bits, 12bits, hdr, 60fps.. all in 4k off course) with this board. for now it look like that it is possible, at least at 30hz, but I didn't found anything that can confirm it. anyway REAL 4K 10bits HDR 4:4:4:4 @ 60fps shouldn't be possible, because neither hdmi 2.0 or dp 1.2 have enough bandwith to do so. |
