I just build a new PC with the following components:

ASRock Z170 OC Formula
Intel i7-6700K
Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR 4 2x16 GB RAM 2400MHz
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050Ti
2 x Samsung v-nand ssd 850 EVO (500GB each)
4TB Seagate Barracuda HD
Corsair 850x PSU
Corsair H60 watercooler
NZXT Case

When I start up the CPU I am getting a 00 message on the MOBO.
I have reset the CPU, and reset the CMOS.

Is there anything else I can do?

Dear Elliekanalles,

Thank you for choosing ASRock product.

Regarding your case, we provide some suggestion to try.

1.          Only install CPU and one stick memory to check if the system can boot into BIOS properly.

2.          Please try to install one stick memory at A1, B1, A2 and B2 slot to check if the system can boot into BIOS properly.

3.          Reinstall CPU and check if CPU socket pin is fine.

4.          If it is possible, please change another CPU or DRAM to check if the system can boot into BIOS properly.

Thank you!

Yours truly,

ASRock TSD

Do you have both the 24 pin ATX power cable, and the 4/8 pin CPU power cable from the PSU connected to the board? Both cables must be used or the CPU will not work.

I tried your suggestion but at no avail. I don't have an extra CPU or extra RAM that I can test with.
Any other suggestion?

Thank you for your advise. I didn't use the 8/4pin only the 24pin and the 8pin. I used now the splitable 4+4 cable that came with the Corsair 850X to also get power to the 4pin.
However I am still getting the 00 code.

I also took all the RAM out, disconnected the Video card and disconnected all the harddrives.
Then I tried booting the system and still I am getting the 00 code. Am I not supposed to get a beeping sound?

I am new at this so I am probably doing something wrong but any help from you experts would be appreciated.

How can I find out what version of BIOS is installed on the mobo when it comes straight out of the factory?

There should be a sticker on the BIOS chips with the factory flashed version.

Also, to parsec's post from the Corsair 850x FAQ:

11) WATCH: Where?s the 4-pin EPS/ATX 12v connector that I need for my motherboard?

Our power supplies ship with an 8-pin connector that splits in half. Use half of this connector for the 4-pin EPS/ATX 12v connector on your motherboard: Link

If it still fails,...disconnect all devices, HHD/SSD/DVD, keyboard and mouse. Does it boot?
