Thanks, datonyb, a good video but with some problems. It is ASUS and the presenter is using W10 RAIDXpert2. I do not think it can be used to create a bootable raid - BIOS RAIDXpert2 must be used. Thanks and enjoy, John.
EDIT: It does point out that the RAID drivers need to be installed on your W10 to be able to use Windows version of RAIDXpert2. Edited by MisterJ - 04 Nov 2017 at 11:39pm |

This video DOES RAISE a big question, can I create a RAID after having installed WINDOWS while the BIOS was in SATA mode, which was the only way I was able to install WINDOWS.

daddyo, perhaps my answer to your question on my thread was wrong. Now I think your W10 was installed on a single drive of some kind on BIOS 1.50 and now you have updated to 1.70 and want to create a RAID. So what kind of RAID do you want, what kind of drives and what do you want to put on the RAID? If you want to install W10 on the RAID, you must clear your current W10 and reinstall it. I deleted my W10 (Delete Array) from the System SSD and all was done after 1.70 was flashed. If you want to create a data array, not boot, then you should use RAIDXpert2 in W10. Be sure to install the RAID drivers as guided in my other thread. http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=6498&title=some-information-on-raidxpert2-x399-w10
If you have further questions, I suggest you open a new thread. Thanks and enjoy, John. |
