Hi all,
I recently purchased a CyberpowerPC and wanted to remove the obvious Sata3 SSD bottleneck. I purchased a 1TB Samsung 960 Evo m.2 NVMe drive to install. I cloned it over tonight, no issues. The "Launch Storage OpROM Policy" option is set to UEFI only, SATA mode set to AHCI, as detailed in this post: http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=1236 However, when I set my boot device to the m.2, it kicks back a black screen with a single, small dash in the middle. I have even lost the ability to read the drive when Windows and booting from the original SSD (after drive clone- prior to drive clone, no issues).
What's the issue? What am I doing wrong? I now realize that the 1 TB model of the EVO 960 is NOT on the list of drives on the Storage QVL page for the Z370 Pro4 (which, to the best of my eyeballing my mobo vs the stock photo, is the one I have- Windows system information has no model number listed). Is that the fatal flaw? If so, why would it read just fine prior to installing the OS? System is i7 8700k, 16GB RAM, 1080Ti, WDC 240 GB SSD/1TB HDD combo. Edited by aTuWitty - 12 Dec 2017 at 3:42pm |
