I am an experienced PC system builder, O normally work these sorts of things out myself, but before I RMA anything, thought I'd post here.
I upgrade from an Asrock B660M ITX to an Asrock z690 phantom gaming-itx/tb4 motherboard and DDR5 RAM The RAM is PREDATOR PALLASII DDR5 32GB Black 16GBx2 6000Mhz 1R8 CL32, which is not listed as compatible on the Asrock website, it is mentioned on theirs. After assembling the PC, the system does not POST, and presents a red DRAM light. I flashed the bios to the latest version, but this made no difference I reseated all components and cables, no change. Given that only the DRAM light comes on, and the CPU is working (I restored the B660M motherboard with the same CPU) it is either the RAM or motherboard. I tried only one RAM stick, once each in both slots to no avail. Basic question, what's more likely, RAM or motherboard, and is there any other way to test short of buying additional RAM to test? |
