Been having memory defective maybe xmp to blame? First was G.Skill Ripjaws v
which support up to 3000mhz by using xmp. Was working fine until few days bsod which was some sort of memory curruption. And Then Geil Evo Potenza 16gb running full 3000 mhz using xmp profile. This one ran ok for few days then it ended up freezing and such. Both memory never used same time it was a replacement from local computer store. They both have a lot of errors on Memtest86. Yesturday store gave me a replacement but this time mushkin redline which run up to 2800. Model number is MRA4U280HHHH8GX2. Set on DDR4-2132 (1066 Mhz) Xmp can run it 2800 but I don't want to. So Xmp is harmful? I guess it's over clocking even though its rated for 2800. Well xmp means its over clocking? So my memory whatever its rated that is over clocking? I'm confuse. xmp rating is for intel boards hence its name is:
IntelĀ® Extreme Memory Profile as for amd...check your board mem qvl or ram vendors for any decent tested kits Edited by kerberos_20 - 20 Jan 2018 at 5:48am |
