Bad INF and ME drivers for Z370 Extreme 4

   I wrote on the Intel forums about the drivers being worse than the orginals from the CD and they said to let you guys know about it but I didn't think Asrock would have anything to do as far as tweaking them.  But here you go. 
Since updating each driver one at a time and  reverting back to the orginal ones, I found they create mouse lag, it feels slower, less responsive.  I tested them over more than 3 times each.

I'm not sure if this post is going to help but I hope you guys or Intel can upload drivers that atleast work better than the orginal ones. Why update them in the first place? Whoever is writing them isn't doing it well.

Not to mention the bios shows the updated drivers being installed even after I installed older ones and uninstalled the new ones? Why is this? Is there ME drivers in the Bios Firmware?

	The Chipset INF and Intel ME driver are written by Intel. Asrock does not write their own drivers but uses those written by the companies that make the products. Yes some ME updates do update the ME firmware and cannot be undone unless you back flash the entire BIOS afaik.

	Can I get an official confirmation so I can get on Intel about this problem? I can't go back with the word of a newbie on the forums. But this problem needs to be addressed asap, is anyone doing anything about it? Testing it at Asrock perhaps? Or examining the driver? Who's in charge at Asrock to deal with these problems? This is the support forum... It's been almost a week since I wrote this. David V on behalf of the Intel Corp said this. "Also, regarding the Intel ® Management Engine and INF drivers, I would like to mention that we provide the drivers but they are implemented by the different manufacturers. I would strongly suggest to mention that to Asrock* and see if they are working on a fix for that. As far as we know, there should not be any performance issues when updating the Intel ® ME or INF, Asrock* should be able to attempt to replicate the issue with the same Motherboard model, if they can reproduce the issue then they can report it to us internally. "

Second rule: never update drivers on a good working machine. Unless you have a specific issue that the update fixes you should never do an update just because it is newer.

	I already did that, I'm waiting on a reply, and your profile on the forums says you're a newbie like me, I'm not saying YOU are a newbie yourself. But anyways, yeah I agree with the rules, always have, typically I research everything about a computer that I can think of before I buy it, but the bios intel ME version came out of left field, I had no idea they started implementing it.

	Nice to find this thread. I had problems with my mouse. The left mouseclick did not work fine anymore. I tried a second mouse and the same issue. The mice did 30-50% a doubleclick. Stoped working for a 1 second. It was unable to highlight text. I tried older Intel INF drivers and now the problem has gone. Before, I installed the latest INF drivers I think. This thread helped me a lot. Mainboard: Z370 Extreme4

	My computer had been "hesitating" and the keyboard and mouse were sluggish and it was driving me crazy. Based on this I loaded the old inf drivers off Intel's site. Woa! Now my system is responsive again. ASROCK needs to fix this issue ASAP. (My MB is z370 Killer / SLI Edited by steveg - 08 Jul 2018 at 12:43pm
