First of all, the system:
AsRock Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming K4 (Bios v4.6) Ryzen 5 2400G with stock cooler G.Skill Trident Z 2x8Gb 2400MHz (SKU: F4-2400C15D-16GTZR) Specs from Thaiphoon Burner: Hynix 8Gb A-die both modules. 15-15-15-35-50 1.2V XMP Revision 2.0 Samsung 860 Evo 500 Gb Edimax Network card EW-7612Pln PCIe x1 Be Quiet System power 9 500W My tech level: Intermediate Problem:
7 out of 10 times, system don't Post. Black display. Won't go to
Bios/Uefi. No display signal. Keyboard/Mouse won't power up. (All
problems are post related obviously) Ram doesn't work with
XMP profile either i.e. 2400 MHz. Configuring XMP results in multiple
reboots without system going to Bios until hard reset. Sometimes even
after hard reset it wont start. So hard reset again.. What I have tried so far: - Changing Ram module slots. I am using them in A2, B2. - Tried using single ram too but nothing changed. - Updated Bios to v4.7. It didn'd fixed anything, just worsened the reboots. So rolled back to v4.6. - I have also tried HDMI but I think ryzen have special issues with HDMI. Dont know if it was the same Post problem or HDMI. Currently am using DVI. - Also have cleared CMOS before and after Bios update. Also cleared it in between while testing. Before
buying this mobo I had bought Asus Rog Strix B350-F Gaming and was
having similar issues. After googling around, I thought it was bad mobo
so sent it back and bought this one. Now I have mixed feeling about it.
Asus was much better aesthetically but K4 have dual M.2.. But it is 30??
cheaper so win win for me. Either way, the ram I mentioned is
present in QVL of Ryzen 2400G for this mobo. But there is a typo. It
says F4-2400C15D-16GBTZR, when it should be 16GTZR or 16GTZRX. I have also seen a thread with a similar problem with another guy and I think he also sent the Ram back. So, my questions are: - If any of you have any other test to check or any trick to make it work perfectly, I would be delighted to know. - Is there debug or diagnosing
LEDs for Ram, Processor etc on this mobo because I couldn't find any.
It seems like just without any diagnosing Led which is pretty bad. I am thinking of sending the Ram back and buying a Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000MHz (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15).
If any has experienced using this Ram at 3000MHz or 2933MHz, please
tell me your experience, regarding whether it worked or not, it was easy
or not?
