Hi,
After struggling for hours trying to make my system boot to bios I discovered the problem is memory. My Motherboard has 2 SO DIMMS each 4GB corsair DDR3 1333. When they are both inserted this happens: -No video, sometimes blue blocks? visible immediately after powering on and probably BEFORE seeing the bios (which does not come up) -When there's no video, leaving the system on, the power led blinks approx each 60 secs. Looks like the system retries to start itself -Sometimes waiting helps, sometimes powering off (press and hold power), reset bios jumper, ...sometimes magic happens and the PC starts booting. When this happens the PC works fine until the next reboot or shutdown/restart. However, removing a Dimm makes the PC boot without any problems. First I thought it was a faulty DIMM so I tried switching the DIMMS - still no boot problem. Even changing the DIMM slot does not trigger the problem. So I tried inserting both DIMMS again -> no Boot. So it looks like the Motherboard does not like 2 Dimms? Is this possible or am I missing a bios setting or jumper setting somewhere? Thanks T |
