Thank you guys a lot! I will definitely check out the other boards but I am pretty sure they work. I suppose I will know in a couple of days lol. At least RAM prices are dropping in case I need some new sticks.

The general rule for QVL lists is to check the QVL for the RAM itself, not the motherboard. RAM QVL lists tend to be far more comprehensive as it is far easier to test two dozen RAM models on a board than it is for a motherboard manufacturer to test two dozen RAM models for each RAM manufacturer. In addition, if you see even one ASRock B450 board model listed (assuming you are looking at a B450 board) then typically it will work on all ASRock B450 boards as in all likelihood, ASRock (and other manufacturers) use the same base BIOS across all their boards on a particular chipset, at least the part that pertains to memory compatibility anyway.

Anything not in the QVL is a hit or miss.
Generally, B-die is known to work well, and more so are the Flare X series. No doubt this mobo can run other RAM as well, it's just that little is known thus far. JEDEC (2133/2400) specs are supposed to work anyway, so if the rates are OK with you, you can temporary roll with your current RAM, although at possibly lower speeds. |

Also I am talking about the B450 board, in case there are others.

So I am looking at buying the Steel Legends board and was checking the memory compatibility and realized it's quite short compared to other boards and the only one they have for Team on there are not my RAM modules. So I am wondering if this is because of it being a new board? I went to my current board's site on MSI and it has WAAY more of every manufacturer including Team.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I like the board in general and also need an ATX board to replace my mATX and would prefer to not have to buy new memory at the moment. Thanks! |
