Well, looks like there wasn't an issue. Reseller assured me that this mobo is new and not used. I tried it and up to now all looks good. It probably was spots from the production line or something.

get a refund and buy the board elsewhere they are trying to sell you a used product. Just hope you could get the refund.

Was your board even sealed and zip tied to the black styrofoam.

I am with xhue here, that board looks like it is a return that was sent back then repackaged and sent out to you. Looking at the pics it looks like it was in a system with water cooling and something leaked while it was laying flat for testing. Send it back to the retailer and demand they either send you an actual new board or a refund and purchase your board elsewhere. Personally, I wouldn't trust any retailer that sent me that. Water damage is something you don't take any chances with, it only worsens over time unless it is properly cleaned with an ultrasonic cleaner before damage occurs.

Definately looks like a bad batch or soldering gone wrong.

I personally wouldn't operate this board if I was you.

There is always an option to try it out, but it may pose serious danger to your other components and you.

Return it if you can and ask for a new piece. Often retailers try to send garbage retuns or refurbs ti non-suspecting customers, in a lame attempt to make some more money. I've seen it countless times myself.

Hello,

I need advice. I just bought a brand new AsRock X470 Taichi. Right from the box, it has those spots which look like wet remains. Now I wonder whether it's ok or not. What should I do? Return it back to the reseller? Or it's ok and I can try to start it and see how it's going?
