If You take a closer look at the 990FX Extreme6 and the 990FX Killer,
they are both the same board, one is Fatal1ty branded and Red themed, and one is Extreme branded and Blue themed. I think that Cross-BIOS-Flash would work fine, but I don't own them so I cant test it out... yet! |

Searching on Asrock site i found a new motheboard, 990FX Extreme6, and i founded on newegg that it's 129$, 60$ cheaper than Extreme9 and supports also 220W TDP cpu's, Should i buy it instead?

No, it's strong enough may be 5-10% less peformance than on Intel, but not moore.
But the better choice for power consumption if you have an R9 280X it's to sell it and buy an R9 390X instead. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125804&cm_re=R9_390X-_-14-125-804-_-Product You will have almost the same performance at half the power consumption |

So, do you think that with an FX 9570 cpu i will be limited in performance with two R9 280X in CF?

The VRM it's a little better on Extreme9, the Fatal1ty Professional has also 12+2 phases but not Dual-Stack MOSFET (DSM). 2 SATA3 for Extreme9, and higher memory support for Extreme9 2450Mhz(oc) compared with Fatal1ty Professional -2100mhz. Theese are the main improved stuff.
No, i haven't tried any multi gpu configurations. Edited by bog_xdan - 30 Oct 2015 at 7:43am |
