Hello,
I've the same problem (as my fellow sufferer before) with the third party SATA Controller( ASMedia ASM1061 ) [SATA3_A1 + A2]. I can use the ports with DVD/BD-Recorders and they work, but unexpectedly the PC freezes. If I disable the third party controller, until now no freezes. I rarely use the CD/DVD/BD drives, but I think it can not be that I can not use this in parallel. I could not find a driver on the original CD and not on the ASRock website // support // download site. Maybe the missing specialised driver is the problem?!? (currently Windows Default driver is used) Are there any solutions? Or is my motherboard broken and I have to send it back? My Configuration: ======================== Mainboard: ASRock Taichi Z390 BIOS: 4.00 (original devliered) CPU: Intel Core i9 9900K (with Noctua NH-D15 CPU cooler) RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB Kit DDR4-3000 CL15 (CMK64GX4M2C3000C15) {in Slot A2 + B2 according to manual} M.2_1: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB {with heat sink} M.2_2: Samsung 970 Pro 1TB [BOOT] {with heat sink} M.2_3: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB {with heat sink} SATA3_0: --- SATA3_1: --- SATA3_2: Seagate Exos 6TB (#1) {RAID 1} SATA3_3: Seagate Exos 6TB (#2) {RAID 1} SATA3_4: --- SATA3_5: --- Third party SATA Controller ASMedia ASM1061 SATA3_A1: DVD Recorder (LG) SATA3_A2: BD Recorder (LG) Graphics: PCIe Port 2 (x16): Sapphire AMD RX580 4G I'll try to do a BIOS update to 4.20 (latest); if this improves the situation (no more freezes) and then report here from my experience. |

Hi!
I have the Taichi Z390 motherboard. I use all SATA ports, and I have noticed recently that my computer freezes at random points - i.e. during installations, gaming, log on, etc. There's no BSOD, the computer just freeze and I have to hard boot. I just tested to disable third party sata in BIOS, and the problem was instalty removed. I am on BIOS 1.90. Is there a BIOS/driver fix for this? What is your suggestion? And furthermore, which of the SATA ports are Third Party Sata? I can't find that specified in the manual, only that two of them are Asmedia ports. Thank you! |
