Yes thank you, this is the first I am reading this explicitly, but I
made that assumption when it didn't work.

I sent back the 2nd NVMe for M2_2 and ordered a
SATA version to use in it's place. Also saved some money.

SATA and NVMe are totally different interfaces, it's not just different speeds. As stated, the m2_2 slot is SATA only on that board.

m2_1 is for Nvme ssd cards. m2_2 is for sata ssd cards.... they are nor the same. You can't put a nvme card in m2_2... Well you can, but it won't work.

I recently got a new build using the fairly new B450M Steel Force with Ryzen 2700.

This MB has the latest firmware v2.0 installed and boots fine. I have a Silicon Power M.2 256GB Gen3x4 in the Ultra M.2 slot and this is recognized fine. I also put the same in the 2nd M.2 slot (M2_2) and there is no other Sata devices installed.

Windows installed fine on the M2_1 Ultra and boots fine - no issues.

Part is SU001TBP34A80M28AB - NVMe M.2 PCIe Gen3x4

The 2nd M.2 is not seen at all, it is also the same Silicon Power 256GB M.2.
Identical part #. Not seen in the BIOS, works fine if I swap with M2_1

Although this is not in QVL and is a Gen3x4, shouldn't it still be recognized,
but run at the slower speed? Or is there a distinct difference between NVMe
and SATA M.2s? No right, it's just different bus and speeds.

It it possible that this is something that would be fixed with a firmware update in the future? Not seen in the BIOS and certainly not Windows Computer
Management.

Any ideas?
