Ray is right.
DDR4 has one side fixed. You should first insert the stick under the fixed end of the slot, and then click the other side. The clip should then latch automatically. Make sure the whole RAM stick seats low and even. Wobble slightly to make sure. |

Almost all current mainboards for DDR4 have one clip per slot.

I just got a B450M Pro4 motherboard and I find that the DDR4 slots shown in the manual have a movable plastic clamp at each end to ensure the RAM is held securely in its slot (please see images).
However in the actual board there is a clamp at one end only and if I lock that in place the free end of the RAM strip sits too high to properly engage its contacts. My RAMs(2) are G.SKILL Aegis 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM I must be missing something obvious! Please advise. |
