Hello angrymonkey, be sure to update the BIOS only to version 2.0 (AGESA PinnaclePI 1.0.0.6), because you have Ryzen 2000 series (like me). There should be no problem for Ryzen 2000 series processor with a PCIe 4.0 GPU on the X470 Taichi (Ultimate) with only PCIe 3.0. For Ryzen 3000 series processors it needs sometimes the option "forced Gen3" instead of "Auto" if not possible to boot into Windows. Best regards, TM |

Angry asks ...
I plan to start updating my first build soon. Question. I have a AsRock X470 Taichi m/b with a Ryzen7 2700x cpu. Currently I have Gigabytes' GTX1060 gpu onboard w/ 4x8gb sticks of Corsair Vengeance 2933hz memory. The cpu is cooled by a Cryorig H7 air cooler. My updates will be an Alphacool Eisbaer 240 63.85 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler and a Power Color Red Devil Radeon RX 5700XT. ?= will a simple BIOS update to my m/b be sufficient for the gpu I have in mind ? I'm still very new to this, so be gentle with me... Lol ! |
