That weird screen was getting on my nerves.

I went into the bios and enabled csm.

For now I am totally happy, both Linux and windows 10 still boot fine, no more weird screen, when I turn on pc.

I hate EUFI though, for all the headache it has given me.

But for now all seems fine, both win 10 pro and Linux are installed using UEFI and no weird screens.

Still don't understand the weird screen even with only windows 10 installed and csm disabled, but lets hope this is my last post on the subject.

I have for now given up on the pre post screen.

Resetting the bios did not change a thing.

If I boot UEFI only, I get this screen, if I have CSM enabled all seems normal.

Because after this screen all seems fine, for now I gave up on fixing it.

Unless somebody here has a clue on whats happening.

Tried a different monitor, different connection, same thing.

Disconnect the system from power and pull the CMOS battery for 20min or so for a
full CMOS/RTC clear. If the MS tool changed any deep (hidden) UEFI values that
should clear them and get things back to normal.

Introduction.

I am building a new pc, and MBR2GPT most likely has messed something up.

I was already installing the OS, WIN 10 and openSUSE leap 15.1.

Two different hard-disk.

Linux install went fine, but not the windows install.

Linux was EUFI as I want it, but windows was installed with an MBR.

With Google I found a tool from Microsoft. MBR2GPT

Now the problem, after using this tool (ty MS) , I get a weird distorted screen, when I turn on the pc.

I then went into the bios, and selected load UEFI default.
This seemed to work as in the weird screen being gone, but as soon as I do CSM diabled, that screen returns.

This weird screen started after using the tool, to convert from mbr to uefi.

So I turn on the pc (no os installed) and I get a weird screen, then the asrock logo appears (with a countdown to press what key to enter the bios) , sometimes also distorted.

Any ideas on what's wrong and how to fix it ?
