Hi, did you get the solution to the x470 motherboard issue?, I have the same situation.

I would think i've used it before, but i'm not sure. Bought more than a year ago and it was mainly sleeping there for several months. Just decided to sell it now and i was checking everything before putting it online (i'm glad i did).

Is this a new board or did it run in the past?

There is "no answer" to the clear cmos button. Don't use it while the board is powered on. You have to switch off the PSU, unplug it and press the clear cmos button for some seconds. Put in one RAM stick in A2 and switch on. What does the debug LED show? |

I took off the memory as well as the GPU. They were G.Skill SniperX 3400 and GTX 980 Ti. PSU used : Seasonic SS-1050XP, Silverstone ST45SF-G and Corsair AX650.
I thought about shorting, so i was hand holding the board but it didn't affect it. No ClearCMOS pins on this board, it has a button instead. And the CPU cable is the correct one. No IO jumper, the board is on a bench table. I was using a stock AMD cooler and then took it off too just to make sure its mounting kit was not shorting anything. The only "connections" to the board are : CPU, CPU power supply and ATX power supply. |

Please list your full system specs (at least the following):
CPU RAM MB GPU PSU In the mean time, if the system is not responding to the power button check the following: 1. Make sure the CMOS clear jumper is NOT in the clear position 2. Make sure nothing is shorting under the board 3. Make sure you have the proper 8 pin power cable connected to the board, it should be a 4+4 not a 6+2 The fact that the system won't respond to the power on pins being shorted (by the switch or a metal object) typically means power protection is kicking in, usually because of either a short or the Clear CMOS jumper is bridged (set to clear). You could also have your front IO header connected incorrectly, double check your manual for the proper locations to connect your power and reset switches. |

Hello,
My X470 Taichi Ultimate is quickly lighting up (blue led around chipset and CPU power) whenever i plug in the ATX 24 pins. However, then everything tunrs back off and the motherboard will not answer to the power or clear cmos button. I've been trying several CPU (R7 1700 and R5 2600X) and PSU and it still acts the same. Would it be dead or is this a known issue ? Thanks a lot |
