Dear Avator,
Thank you for choosing ASRock. Please try to clear CMOS by remove the CMOS battery and re-flash the BIOS P4.20 by instant flash. If still not work, please only install CPU, one stick memory to try. Thank you! Yours truly, ASRock TSD |

My Z390 TaiChi motherboard using Bios P4.2 often has trouble booting after being shutdown for a day. It will try to boot, fail, restart, fail, restart, then do a revert to backup B->A, then correctly boot. This has been going on for months.
I used to completely shut off power at night, so I tried leaving the computer powered but shutdown and that didn't help either. At the very least this is inconvenient because it takes an extra 5 minutes to get started if it has to revert to backup bios. I'm worried that this could turn into a bigger problem. I'm worried that reverting to backup UEFI so often might damage something? Is there a limit to the number of times that UEFI can be overwritten? Previous versions of UEFI didn't have this exact problem, but sometimes the computer wouldn't boot after being left along for hours and I had to hit the restart button on the front of my computer case, which did correctly get the computer to boot. |
