Thank you everyone for explaining this for me. Just one more question. Does updating the bios require me to install the old bios versions before I update to the most recent version

You can update from within the BIOS itself. Make sure you download the "instant
Flash" BIOS version you need and be sure you follow the instructions carefully regarding bridge BIOS etc (if necessary). You do not need an OS to update, updating the driver is stipulated only for if you already have an OS installed and don't want to have to reinstall it or be forced to recover it after the update. If you have no OS installed it will not be a problem. |

I have a new Asrock x470 Taichi motherboard and I am going to install a 3700x in it. I need some expert help with the bios.
I need an old AMD cpu(1700x), power supply(EVGA 750 G2), video card(GTX 1060), ram(16gb DDR4) and the motherboard. I have no ssd and no os. Can I do the bios update without a operating system. Also the bios file mentions "AMD all in 1 with VGA driver ver:18.50.16.01_WHQL" to be installed. |
