I would start by clearing the cmos and reseating the ram after cleaning the contacts with alcohol or an electronics parts cleaner

Hi,
I disassembled my PC before moving which was working just fine with XMP set. Finally had chance to rebuild it today however, I could not get it boot when both of my rams (gskill trident z either 3Ghz or 3.2Ghz, can't remember). When I use 2nd and 4th dimm slots, it gives me error 55 (ram not recognized). When I use only 2nd dimm slot, it rapidly shows bunch of errors which I can not catch. However, it stops on error 4C before speeding up again (probably rebooting at this point? no idea...). If I use 4th dimm slot, with both of my rams, the computer boots. It -looks- okay after booting, however, I could test the computer yet for daily usage so if there are further symptoms of problem that would show itself in a game, I am unaware of that as of yet. Checking the forums, I see bunch of root cause and suggestion on how to proceed. However, in most of those threads, people could not boot which in my case somewhat different. I can boot, if I use 4th dimm slot. Any idea how should I proceed? People suggest clearing CMOS? Will that help? Another common problem is bent MoBo pins. I will also check that tomorrow. Do you think this could be due to damage on CPU? I would guess not but anyone has further insight? CPU is 8700K, paired with a MSI GTX 1080Ti Gaming X. The rams are Trident Z, but I do not have the actual manufacturer/product code with me at the moment. I can find it if you think it is relevant in my case. Thanks in advance? |
