It came with bios 4.00 instead of 1.20, I didn't expect this :D

I don't see a BIOS flashback feature on that board, I may have missed it in my
quick skim of the spec sheet but I don't think so. Without flashback you will need a supported CPU to update. There is a chance the 9900k will boot though, it is essentially the same CPU as the already supported version. I can't guarantee it but I have seen quite a few instances of it working. If not, you can always pick up a cheap celeron, some stores will even allow you to return it after the update. |

I ordered Z390 Phantom Gaming ITX motherboard from Newegg, but I just read stock BIOS 1.20 isn't compatible with my CPU i9 9900K R0, so I have concerned about it. Is there a way to update BIOS without finding a compatible CPU?
