Turned out it was a dodgy sata cable of all things.

Did you format the Nvme SSD as GPT?
So that the UEFI can save its data? Start the stick/DVD press F11 and select "as UEFI then the C:\ drive is also used as UEFI. |

Unfortunately I do not have a clear help either. But a few pointers.
I guess that the old SATA SSD was your boot drive, there is probably still the MBR on it, and the UEFI Secureboot doesn't like it. Put that down and see if it works then... |

I've just built a new pc based on a ryzen 1600af on an Asrock b450itx motherboard. It has a brand new nvme drive for the boot drive with win10 pro on. However, when I plug my old, existing data drives in it refuses to boot. One is a sata SSD and one is a sata HDD. With sata set to ahci mode in bios the pc simply won't boot, it gets to the blue windows logo and hangs with the spinning balls endlessly spinning. If I change the sata mode from ahci to raid the pc boots but the drives don't show up. I can't find a similar issue via Google. Anu ideas?
