I've had a z390 Taichi Ult. mo/bo for a little over a year. There has always been some weird stability problems with the system in UEFI mode. I've got two installs of Win10 x64 Pro, one in UEFI mode and the other in CSM mode.

The latest problem that prompted me to post was a Logitech unifying mouse receiver firmware update failed, bricking the dongle. The system hung up hard during that process requiring reset. I was able to recover the dongle, using a tool on another machine.

But there has always been weird hang ups like this when the system is in UEFI mode. Low level hardware access seems to be the trigger. There doesn't seem to be any problem when the system is in CSM mode.

For example, BCDedit and another BCD tool, Visual BCD Editor, tools for accessing the Windows boot loader database, will always cause the system to hang in UEFI mode. They work fine when running under Windows in CSM mode.

The Rufus USB tool, which writes bootable USB images and so forth, will also cause the system to hang sometimes in UEFI mode.

I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed similar behavior with their Z390 Taichi boards?
