Probably just a matter of loosening up your motherboard screws and adjusting the motherboard a bit so it lines up better in your case

The bottom slot is PCIe 3.0 @ x4. What exactly is preventing the GPU from fitting
into PCIe2? Will it just not slot in or are heatsinks etc interfering? The GPU will work fine in the x4 slot though you may lose some performance, how much I can't say without having a 2060 to test with. With my RX 590 I barely drop any frames, maybe 2 - 5fps (with a frame rate over 100). |

PCIe 3 is x4 only, per both the Specifications page for this system board (https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B450M%20Steel%20Legend/index.us.asp#Specification) and the User Manual page 26.

Hello everyone!
I have the ASRock B450M Steel Legend, and the EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB SC Ultra Gaming video card. For whatever reason, this only fits in the PCIE3 slot (in blue), and not in the PCIE2 slot (in red). (I'd assumed these refer to the number of the slot and not the version of PCIE). The manual doesn't say anything further as far as I've found about differing slot sizes. I don't mind keeping it plugging it into the slot highlighted in blue, since I only have one graphics card. However, I was wondering if the bottom one will run at x16 or x4 if I have a graphics card plugged ONLY into the bottom slot (in blue). I found a Reddit post that addressed the issue, but the answers in the comments contradict each other, and I came here looking to see if anyone could provide better insight. I am running Windows 10, if I could find the statistics somewhere in the system, that would also be appreciated. Thank you so much! https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/dhdlda/gpu_wont_fit_in_top_pcie_slot_is_it_fine_to_use/ |
