Datonyb is correct, there is no way to flash without a compatible CPU on your board.
My X570 Taichi does have flashback functionality so ASRock has been listening to us and added the feature on some of the higher end new boards. The feature only exists on high end boards however as it is pretty costly to implement. |

I will give that a shot after updating my BIOS if I'm still having issues.
I was also wondering if I will be able to update the BIOS without loaning a temporary processor. I've heard of the possibility of doing that on certain motherboards but can't figure out if the x370 supports this. Once again, thanks for the info! |

it sounds like your just fighting the bios issue
the mainboard should have the sticker on the bios chip to say which version it is but if the box has ryzen2000 , i doubt you have a late enough bios for the ryzen 3000 series to answer your other question 1 stick of ram is fine use slot a2 its the second one away from the cpu socket |

Hey and thanks for the reply. I recently noticed the motherboard says it is Ryzen 200o ready. I overlooked this because I assumed they were ready compatible because I bought them as a bundle. Good thing AMD offers a Boot Loan Kit to update the BIOS.
As far as booting with one stick of ram, I thought that is something that should never be done because of the voltages being supplied to the different slots. If I'm wrong, what slot should I try with just one stick? As far as the video outputs, I've tried two different monitors with different connections (DVI and HDMI) so I don't believe the issue is with the cables/monitor. For the connectors, I have the CPU 8 pin in the motherboard and the 24 pin and the graphics card has the PCIe 8 pin plugged into it. |

Does the box say "Ryzen 3000 series ready" Maybe the board doesn't have latest BIOS to support Matisse (your 3600) CPU's?
if it does have the updated bios ..things to check: Is everything seated properly? Have you tried booting with just 1 stick of ram Have you gone over the manual for your motherboard? Is your monitor cable plugged in properly to your video card? Are you using an adapter of any kind ..ie .. DVI to VGA or something..? When it does finally boot up, make sure your ram is in slots A2/B2 Do you have the 8pin power connector connected as well as the 24 pin power connecter? Do you have the 8-pin power connector (or it could be a 6 pin) connected properly to your video card? |

Update, I just requested a Boot Loan Kit from AMD. But I am also concerned with the RAM compatibility.

Hello All,
Working on my second build (the first build was 8 years ago) and I am having an issue causing no video output and a red flashing light in the motherboard. Here are the components I purchased for the build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6yBXWb The link notes that there may be potential compatibility issues with the motherboard and CPU. However, I purchased them together as a bundle on Newegg so I don't understand why there would be compatibility issues there. All and any help is greatly appreciated!! |
