Just thought I'd update this old post...
Polychrome RGB ver:2.0.71 seems to have have fixed my issues, no longer getting "hang-ups" when trying to open the app.. It's working as intended now. :) |

Hope it works out for you..
Unfortunately, after rebooting my pc (after the steps above), I'm back to square-one... Polychrome software is not working..Will wait and see what their support says.. |

Hey guys,
Just an update...ASRock tech support got back to me with the following troubleshooting, which worked for me... Step 1. Download the attached file and extract the zip file link below. Link: https://download.asrock.com/TSD/Desktop/Tool/B550M Steel Legend RGB Firmware.zip Step 2. Shutdown the system and remove the power cord to enter the G3 state for 1 minute. Step 3. Boot up the system and go to the OS. Step 4. Search "CMD??at search bar and run Command Prompt as administrator. Step 5. Go to the ?œFW??folder and execute the ?œUpdate_B550M_Steel_Legend.cmd?? After step 5, kindly wait about 1 min and the FW flash will finish. |

I've sent ASRock support an email..haven't heard back.
The board is working fine so far, just sucks that one cant get into the led utility software to change the rgb lights... Didn't know this was an issue...Otherwise I wouldn't have bought the board :( |

This motherboard or/and the Polychrome software is terrible. Did not receive any help as of yet. You can try to manually flash using the WriteFW file inside the bin folder where you installed polychrome but that isn't a solid fix. Hoping Asrock will reach out

Hello all :)
I have a B550M Steel Legend mobo working great with the following components: - AMD Rysen 5 3600x - Kraken x63 cooler - Gigabyte RTX 2070 super - CORSAIR Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (2 x 16GB) - Samsung 970 EVO 1TB NVMe M.2 - WD Blue NAND 1TB Internal PC SSD x2 - Windows 10 pro - B550m Steel Legend (latest bios v.1.20) I'm having a hard time getting the "PolychromeRGB" software to work... When I double click, or run "ASRRGBLED" as admin...it just stalls/freezes at the splash screen "Detecting Peripherals LED Controller"..And nothing happens. - tried uninstalling & reinstalling the software - tried installing the app via the ASRock app shop - tried installing "Polychrome RGB ver:2.0.62" And Beta ver:2.0.66 Nothing I've tried works....Has anyone got it working on their B550m board? Thanks in advance :) |
