So you used all components from the build that had the 3600 except the processor? What about bios 3.40 and those up to 3.90?

Hi,
I've been using this X470 taichi for about a year now at first it was alright but after moving from a 3600 to a 3700x it's been insanely inconsistent. First off on any of the BIOSes released this year (anything after 3.90) I can't get my Trident Z Neo 3600 to boot at anything over 3400, even when I push the voltage. I've seen others on Reddit with the same issue. The bigger issue is power usage, even on stock bios with "OC" mode disabled this motherboard is running my CPU at over 1.4v always. it's driving me nuts! I'm on a custom massive water loop and idle temps are over 60c (for reference my hot 5700xt on the same loop is at 30c junction) I set everything to default and power plan to energy saving. (load is under 20%) Any ideas? Thanks PS: I'm an A+ tech and semi-pro overclocker, I also RMA'ed this board for these issues and boot issues so this board is new |
