Dear Divinehammer,
Thanks for posting! Regarding your question, the M.2_1 slot is reserved for the future processor. When using the Comet Lake CPU, please install the M.2 to the second and third M.2 slots. With thanks, ASRock TSD |

So over the weekend I was installing this Mobo. I also got a Samsung 970 evo plus M.2. According to the manual it appears that I should be able to install this in the M2_1 slot and boot. However putting it in that slot it did not appear to windows as a valid drive to install OS to. I put it in the M2_2 slot and it worked fine. However I dont like this because uusing M2_2 and M2_3 takes away SATA plugs. Should this have worked in the M2_1 slot? Can I now simply move the M2 drive to M2_1 with no other issues? Will it make a difference I see that this slot seems to be faster as it is Gen 4 not Gen 3. Thanks.
