SOLVED

i turned a spare Hdd into a fat 32 format and loaded bios 4.60 on that. The mobo flash detected it and flashed it.

Immediately after the usbs worked again and CPU.

What a nightmare. 4.70 no thanks!

I have tried pulling the battery and resetting the cmos but not let the boot cycle run that long yet.

At the moment with the new chip in the board and fans spin up but not the gpu fan oddly then it shuts off starting the cycle again

For the new CPU, did you perform a full CMOS clear? Try pulling the battery,
disconnecting the system from power and holding the power button in for 10 seconds
or so to fully discharge the capacitors. Leave it like this for 10 mins or so then
put the new CPU in and try power it up. Make sure you leave it powered on for
at least 5 mins, sometimes it will power cycle a few times before springing to life.

Hi all,

Long story short. Tried to upgrade my 2700x to a 5600x. Updated bios as per the manufacturers instructions but could not get the new processor to run.

Next option was to try the previous version of the bios. However when i have gone to load the bios version on to a usb flash drive none of my usbs will show up now.

It seems the bios update has done something to my usbs not recognising usb sticks.

I have tried absolutely everything to get the usbs working short of reinstalling windows. (can't create a windows usb installer either because of this)

USB mouse keyboard etc are all still working fine.

Please help with any suggestions. I am at a complete loss how to resolve this.

Mobo is the X470 Taichi with version 4.70
