Thx for the reply.
At first the error referred to the disk number of my SSD, so I replaced the cable (as you said) and also tried changing the SATA slot on the board. But at the moment the error is pointing to \Device\Harddisk3\DR6, which, if I understand it correctly means Disk3 in the Disk Manager, but as far as I know there is no Disk03 (only Disk0, Disk1 and Disk2). I also find it curious that I can use all drives with no problem for most of the time. Only at some random moment (several hours apart) the errors acumulate over a very short time. Also, do you have any idea how this error may be connected to error ID 7 (\Device\Ide\IdePort1). Regards

I would start by replacing your SATA cables, especially if you reused older ones. Failing that you can also try only connecting the drives needed for the OS and checking if the error/s still occur.
Is it the SSD or the mechanical drives that are flagging the error?

Hello,
I recently bought and installed an ASRock Z97 Extreme 6 and an i5-4690K. I installed all drivers for the board and related controllers and all worked out fine. Soon after I received some periodic errors related to the AHCI controller and saw in the device manager that some devices didn't seem to be properly installed. I then looked for a chipset driver on the Intel homepage after I read on google that that would alleviate the problem. The Devices were installed and all seemed fine. Now I get Errors with ID 7 (the device \Device\Harddisk3\DR6 has a bad block) and with ID 11 (The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort1), and sometimes ID 1530 (Windows detected your registry file is still in use by other applications or services. The file will be unloaded now. The applications or services that hold your registry file may not function properly afterwards). The system seems to run as before, but this morning the computer seemed a little slower than usual and took way longer to do some basic operations. Since the errors just appeared after I installed the motherboard and the CPU I'm really worried that this might screw up the rest of my system or hardware. Also, I have no idea how to resolve this particular errors. Some people suggested that some USB device or a controller for a card reader might share an address with a drive and may cause the errors. Am I maybe missing a setting in bios? (Although I pretty much replicated my previous configuration of my Asrock h87 pro4. Any help would be greatly appreciated. _____________________________________________ CPU: I5-4690k Mobo: Asrock H97 Extreme6 Ram: 16gb Corsair Vengeance 1866 GPU: Nvidia gtx 980 2 HDs, 1 SSD Win 7 64x Professional Edited by Perkzzz - 06 Feb 2016 at 2:42am |
