Thanks for the final tips Xaltar. I was approaching the close of the return window for the motherboard and needed to give the loaner processor back so I decided to return the motherboard. Interestingly though, I immediately purchased a similarly featured motherboard of a different brand and it booted first try with my 5700g, making me think that I just received a dud X570 Pro4. I am glad that it is finally working with a different board but I just wish I had been able to get anywhere with the support ticket I opened.

This is the one thing about AM4 I really don't like. With so many CPU generations
supported issues like this are bound to crop up. Looking at your support list you should be good to go on BIOS version as the 5700g is supported from version 3.90 and you are on 4.2. The only thing I can think of to try is to get the system up and posting with the 2600, manually set XMP to disabled and save out and exit then try the system again with the 5700g without changing anything else, no CMOS clear or battery removal. Lets see if that helps. Edited by Xaltar - 03 Sep 2021 at 5:10am |

Xaltar, thank you for the troubleshooting tips. I gave them a try exactly as you described and waited...5 minutes, 10...eventually 2 hours but I still had the same CPU GPU Boot lights on with no beeps, no video and the only way to turn it off was pressing and holding the power button (normal for my case so far).
I haven't given up hope yet but I don't know what else to try. |

Install the 5700G and 1 stick of RAM in slot A2. Pull the CMOS battery with the
system disconnected from power for about 10mins then reinsert it. Then power up the system and leave it running for 10mins minimum. Sometimes the CPU's memory controller can take up to that long to train the RAM. I had the same thing happen with my 3600 on my X570 Taichi, thought something was dead but after about 4 - 5 mins it suddenly posted and has been working perfectly ever since. The system now posts instantly. |

Hello,
As per the title, I have a brand new R7 5700G, X570 Pro4, and some AMD validated Gskill 3600 ram, and am stuck as the mobo will only get so far as illuminating the boot, vga, and cpu diagnostic leds with no diagnostic beeps from the pc speaker. The board posts and boots with an old R5 2600X and an ancient Radeon 6450 and makes the appropriate pc speaker beeps if the RAM is pulled, etc. I updated bios to 4.2, swapped power supplies with another known working one, cleared cmos after most changes, tried a single stick of ram in every slot and ram from another working computer, with and without a video card. I have tried running it on the bench outside of the case with no success either. I RMAed the R7 5700G since it seemed to be bad as the old 2600x worked but the replacement 5700g (also brand new) still does the exact same thing...nothing except lighting the boot, vga, and cpu leds. Just to rule out possibly having killed the mobo in testing, I put the 2600x back in and it booted. About a week ago, I submitted a support case to ASRock and aside from the submission confirmation, have not heard back. I am at a loss so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. |
