usb-c port is mostly charging/data port on PC
thats why GPUs provide usb C ports to get DP alt mode from usb-c |

bump, no thoughts on this? I also put a USB-C to HDMI adapter and hdmi cable to monitor, doesn't work. I take it, the onboard USB-C is a charging port only? Thx.

Hello, I have I7-11700K CPU I just put in along with an NVIDIA GPU. NVIDIA is working fine. BIOS is updated to 1.7 (latest), Primary in BIOS is NVIDIA and Multi monitor mode is enabled. I can get the HDMI onboard GPU to drive a monitor however, I cannot use USB-C to do the same. The specs can handle it (says 10GB/Second) and my monitor is alt-mode capable.
The USB-C port on the NVIDIA works with the monitor and I have tried two cables. The onboard GPU does not. Why is USB-C so damn confusing to find any decent information on, grrr!! Thanks all. |
