I can't help but wonder if the dehumidifier function was enabled and the "d" simply stands for it.

I'm glad you have the board fixed!
I wonder if you had a corrupted UEFI/BIOS for some reason. I've never seen a single character Dr Debug code, they should all be two hexadecimal digits. You might have been able to fix your problem with a simple UEFI/BIOS clear, but updating it does tha similar thing, plus give you some improvements. Thanks for letting us know you fixed your problem. |

It's not "0d". Just a single "d". I'm using the onboard graphics. I just had this mobo for 1 day. I realize the bug after my first shut down. Restart is OK.
My PSU is Corsair GS700. I notice this bug occur every time I start my pc (after a computer shutdown). Example: 1. Start up my PC. I'm getting the "d". All case fans and CPU fan are running. Casing LED is not lit. 2. Try holding down the power button on the casing and the built in button on the mobo to force a shutdown, but nothing happens. To shut it down, I need to switch off from the main power plug (switching off from the PSU switch is similar). 3. Switch on the main power supply. 4. Start up again. Everything works like normal... entering Win10 without issue. 5. Shutting down Win10. PC shuts down. Leave it for 5 minutes in off state. 6. Start up again... problem at step1 repeat.

If you mean you have a Dr Debug code of "0d" (zero d), this is what the ASRock Z170 board manuals say about that code: Problem related to memory, VGA card or other devices. Please clear CMOS, re-install the memory and VGA card, and remove other USB, PCI devices. It seems like your PC was working fine previously, and just today you had the problem with the PC not starting, and you see the "0d" code, right? You also said the power LED on your PC case did not light up. In general, this code means one of the basic parts of the PC like memory or the video card failed. But it could also mean that your power supply (PSU) is not working right, so the memory or video card cannot start. You did not list a video card in your Rig list, but if you use one or not does not matter. I think your PSU is not working right because while the fans were running, they use +12V power, but the case power LED did not light up, which uses +5V power. So the +5V power part of your PSU may not be working. What model of PSU are you using? I would try testing the PSU, by trying a different PSU in the PC. It could also just be a connection between the mother board and PSU is not good. Check the 24 pin main ATX power cable, and the 4/8 pin CPU power cable. Or you can try clearing the BIOS as the manual suggested for the 0d code. If the PSU is not broken, then something else might be defective, like one of the memory DIMMs. Is there anything else you can tell us that happens when you try to start the PC? |

Today, I power up my pc, my ASRock Z170 Gaming K6 mobo debug code shows "d". My casing power led doesn't light up. The fans do run.
What does it mean? |
