My board is the B550M Steel Series. Same BIOS version.

My results have shown that the memory timings and the voltage settings were more aggressive than the previous release. Many of the settings I used with the older BIOS version would cause the new version to crash. I OC my chip.

I am currently running the Ryzen Master Curve Optimizer on my system after banging my head randomly against the heat issue the new BIOS has created for my 5800X. And the XMP value gets refused every so often, and that is with just setting something from manual to auto...

Also, my Radeon card won't keep the fan settings, stating something about a system issue and restoring all the settings to default.

My hope is the curve optimizer will resolve the temperature issue. I had the same processor running well on the old version of the BIOS (2.50).

I also believe the L releases of AsRock BIOS are beta. I am also hopeful the next release will be better from the start.

It would be best to use the support form, and check the spam folder for replies

Never do a BIOS update, when a system runs fine, so many people think newer is better, and can do miracles.
In this case, downgrade the BIOS would be the ebst alternative
Kind Regards

I have a B550M PG Riptide and a B550M phantom gaming 4 in PC's. One has a 5600 (non x) ant the other has a 4600. I installed the L2.62 bios in both and it seem OK for about a week, then boot times went to over 3 minutes in both.
I went through all diagnostics, removing connected drives, PCIe add on's and memory tests. Problem persisted and finally went back to previous bios on both and problems disappeared- boot times went back to 12 - 16 seconds.
With the L2.62 bioses in them it became nearly impossible to change settings. Any screen movement would take 23- 40 seconds for the cursor or keyboard to move anywhere. Even the clock jumps around instead of steadily clicking off seconds.
Oddly once booted everything seemed to work fine.
The update was to agesa 1.2.0.8. Another odd thing is I have a B550 Phantom Gaming 4 (not B550M)and the update isn't listed for it.
Side note...supposedly you can't roll the bios back on these MB's - but I tried it and seemed to work OK for me.
I also have a Fatal1ty B450 Gaming K4 with a 1600AF (pinnacle ridge) that updated and worked fine with bios updates to 5.31, but wouldn't post with 5.60, which was an update listed as "support for RTX 40 series". It rolled back OK also (had to put a different processor in it to roll it back) - just info for those wondering about updating a 1600af in a b450...worked fine way past the not recommended updates for 1600AF (zen +).
What is really confusing to me is the fact that problems with the L2.62 bios didn't appear for some time.

EDIT: Was posted in wrong forum section..deleted and moved.
