I don't think asrock make there USB ports to the standards my z170 extreme 7+ will not output any more then 0.44 amps on any of the USB ports (2.0-3.0-or 3.1) it sad my Asus z87 in my htpc puts out 2.14 on 3.0 an 1.1 on 2.0

For anyone else reading this thread it appears the AppCharger thing only works with Apple devices.
On my Nexus 5X I get "Charging Slowly" when connected to the USB 3.1 port. On a Plugable powered USB 3.0 hub I get "Charging" On the supplied Nexus 5X charger I get "Charging Quickly" |

A USB 3.1 port would not be 3.1 certified if it did not meet the specs for... USB 3.1.
![]() If you looked up the specs for USB power delivery for all versions, it is rather confusing, and who knows what spec has been implemented on their board. USB 3.1 ports should supply 1.5A of 5V power for charging a device. That is more than the standard 0.9A of USB 2.0. But there is more to it than this. USB specs have a battery charging specification, that has provided 1.5A at 5V over a USB 2.0 connection, but without any data transfer capability. That feature must be activated. How? Just download the ASRock AppCharger program, and install it. I've never used it but I'm sure it is easy to figure out. The version of AppCharger is the same for any Windows version, you can find it here on your board's download page: http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z170%20Extreme6/?cat=Download&os=Win1064 This feature has been available for a long time, so should work fine for fast charging devices like mobile phones. |

Hi,
I'm trying to find out how much power the rear panel USB 3.1 ports are able to supply. Can it be set somehow? Didn't find anything in the manual. I wonder if it's enough to support quick-charging with a mobile phone for example. kind regards, Johnny
