I'm sorry to say, no, your board will not support an M.2 SATA SSD. From your board's specifications: 1 x M.2_SSD (NGFF) Socket 3, supports type 2230/2242/2260/2280/22110 M.2 PCI Express module up to Gen2 x4 (20 Gb/s). The M.2 socket does not support SATA M.2 SSDs. Your board's Specification page, check the Storage section: http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/970A-G3.1/?cat=Specifications The Overview section also states this board does not support M.2 SATA SSDs. M.2 SSDs are still new devices, and there are several types of M.2 SSDs, SATA, PCIe AHCI, and PCIe NVMe. We must be careful to know which types are supported by the board we have or are considering to buy. |
